The April meeting was a blast and I hope everyone had fun! I promise the June 5th meeting will be just as fun, so mark your calendars now! Until then, help out with the garage sale on the 17th and attend some interest groups! As always, bring a guest!
Thanks to all who voted for our charity donations. Shelterhouse and Family and Children Services will each receive $100 from us within the next couple weeks.
Now for some exciting news: WATCH FOR SOME VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES within a new special project for next year. We are teaming up with North Midland Family Center and Midland Community Center (and possibly other community groups) to start a project called “Share the Memories.” The mission is to collect unused formal dresses and redistribute them to any Midland County high school female for the 2009 prom season. We will be looking for volunteers next spring at collection and distribution time, but we also need help behind the scenes. If anyone is interested in helping the committee or if you want to know more, please let me know. More information will be coming at a later date. In the mean time, spread the word. This will be a great way to promote our organization and be visible in the community as we do something to give back! |
