February 2008

Thank you to everyone who took the on-line survey.
The results will be featured in next month's newsletter.
The board hopes to use your feedback as we determine
the best course of action to make our club more successful.

As you sit inside during these last weeks
of winter, why not start collecting things for the garage sale
in May?  It has been our biggest fundraiser in the
past years  and it is because of your donated items –
not to mention the hard work of our volunteers!
I personally have a box in the basement where
I collect items starting the day after the sale!
Nothing is too big or too small.

Reminder that there are only a few more days
to purchase tickets for the
Saginaw Spirit game on February 17th.
Please submit payment as soon as possible.
The deadline is February 2 nd .

I hope that everyone can attend the meeting this month.
If I don't see you there – maybe I'll see you
at an interest group?  As always – bring a guest!

January 2008

Winter is definitely here!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.
Maybe now we can all relax a bit and
enjoy each other's company at an interest group!

Please take note of the advertisement for
the Newcomers Family Day at a Saginaw Spirit game
in February.  All payment must be received prior to our
next meeting, so please let me know ASAP if you
are interested in reserving tickets for
what will be a wonderful family outing!
Please feel free to invite friends and neighbors as well!

Thank you to Denise Wells and Kristi Kline
for a fantastic Holiday Luncheon in December.
Thank you to Karen Brecht for running the silent auction
(which was a huge success)!  We were able
to give both our adopt a family families a
$75 gift card for groceries.  Finally, thank you
to Karen Petros and Cindy Stemple for
organizing our Adopt-A-Family program this year!

The next few months will be packed
with interest groups, talks of elections
and donations to our favorite charities.
Watch for more info.

December 2007

By now we’ve all seen the first flurries of white stuff that tell us the
holidays will soon be here. I hope you all decided to start the season
by celebrating with us at the Holiday Luncheon on December 6th. Please let

Denise or Kristi know if you plan on attending and by all means, bring a guest!

Not only will there be wonderful food, but also a silent auction which
has traditionally helped buy a holiday dinner for our “Adopt-A-Family” family.
This year we are sponsoring two families! If you have an item to donate
to the auction, please call Karen Brecht. Thank you to all the businesses that
generously donated items to the auction.

As calendars fill, please check out the interest groups and take time
for yourself to enjoy one or several of the activities offered.
But please remember to let the hostess know if
something comes up and you cannot make it as planned.

If anyone has had trouble logging onto the members only
page of our web-site, please let myself or Mallory know so we can
remedy the problem.  You may also click on the following links:
