| Midland Newcomers is a non profit organization. We are primarily a social club but we also strive to serve the community in a number of ways. Board members are elected each spring. Following are our 2007 - 2008 Officers: |

| Our History: Newcomers is a world wide organization and sponsored by different groups from city to city. Midland Newcomers was formed in 1952 when Jean Elder moved from Cleveland to Midland. Jean met with the Chamber of Commerce to start a newcomers organization. The original Midland Newcomers was launched by 4 couples including husbands who had just moved here through Dow. In the club's first year there were 80-100 members including husbands. Activities included square dancing, picnics and special events at the country club. Newcomers also served as guides for bus tours of Midland. |
